I'm thankful for.... My house. My trough. Sweet Pea and Guinness. Doodah. And EVEN Sissy, and Mr.T. So leap for joy,and think of what are YOU thankful for this year!! HAVE A GOATIE GOOD THANKSGIVING !!!!
Well It quit raining(thank goodness). "Da Boy" has decided to give us more hay to get.....uh(NOT FAT)for the winter. Here is Doodah sneak-grazing(maybe she just feel asleep). See the whole point to sneak-grazing is to hide from the other goats so they wont steal you hay. Sweet Pea is taking it a little TOO seriously(is cameo necessary). See she is watching out of the corner of her eye even as she eats(Goat-Note,where did the saying "out of the corner of you eye"come from). It is cold(for Texas). It is 50* and the turkeys are happy. They run around fluffy, and gobble at the people as soon as they come out("Da Boy"has been trying to get a video of them gobbling but they refuse to do it on film).Time for a turkey close up. It is still wet from the rain. I refuse to get out out(even for a picture) and get my hoofs wet. So instead,a Big Goatie Good Bye!!!
Well......rain. Not the 2 hour 3 inch it's over rain. But the long all day 1 inch rain. Couldn't we just get it over with. Well it has rained, and since I don't leave the goat house when it rains,I will tell you about yesterday. Well it was good. "Da Boy" replaced the lock on mine and Sissy's goat house, she was VERY upset about that, she stomped "Da Boy's" foot(she doesn't get that if she gets out at night, the coyotes would get her!).I told her that if she would just stop butting it till it burst open he would not have to replace it ,well as it turns out,the new lock was not goat proof ether. The u thing the carabinger thing goes on broke off(with Sissy's help). Then "Da Boy" cleaned out the all the goat houses. We were VERY EXCITED about that. See he shovels all the old hay in to the wheel barrel, and puts fresh soft tasty hay in it place. But Mr. T wasn't content with the new hay,he had to make sure there was no tasty hay left in the barrel. He tipped it over and caused "Da Boy" more trouble to scoop it back up(I would never do that). So in the end it was a good day.
This is a un-goat-related(well maybe a little) post, about the turkeys. They are free range today!!!!! Grandnana and "Da Boy" put up a nice big pen for them. But before they got released, they had to get their feathers, and dignity clipped(to make sure it stays Laughing Duck Farm and not Escaping Turkey Farm) . I Told them not to get any ideas about the goat pen,the have theirs,we have our's. Does anyone speak turkey?
First off,we goats like the chain saw. In fact we get excited when we here the sound of it. "That's a weird thing for a goat to like" you say.Now before you get all judgeish ,think about it for a minute. The chain saw cuts,it cuts limbs off of trees, what are on trees? Leaves!!!!!!! See every time the people cut off a limb, they toss it in the goat pen. Here we are enjoying leaves. Here is Doodah eating leaves. To some it is food,to some it is a art, look at how she puts her,uh.............stomach into it. Mr.T is having some leaves too. I had to partake too!!!I mean it is just wrong to let those delicious leaves sit there and not fulfill there purpose in life. Sweat Pea ate her fill and decided to go over and get scratched by Grandnana. Before-after,in only 5 minutes. Tasty leaves!
Yes it is my goat.....Wait,"Da Boy says that it NOT my monkey nose. He says it is CLYDE'S snout. I told him to put MY monkey nose for the picture. Just for that I will not let him scratch me. Well, maybe not. I will have to think of some other way to get him back. O well, here is ME and My monkey nose.
O.K. The GrandBilly,"Da Boy's" Billy, built us TWO new houses. The first is big,for the girls, the second is for Mr.T,it is about 2/3 the size. The big one has a hole in the back for Sweet Pea,the gets VERY upset(she is claustrophobic, can you believe it a claustrophobic goat). She will stop when she can smell the outside. We haven't climbed on them yet, just slept in them,Sissy will climb on soon enough. Here is a pic of them through the Sweet Peat hole. To end it a pic of me on my log.
O.K,here is the interview with Two-Toes Missin'(I like this guy).
1.First off,what is you favorite color? Um. I'm a Bourbon Red,sssoooo red.
2.What is your job here at "The Farm"? Well. I'm the head Turkey of the flock.I watch over the flock. 3.What is your favorite thing to do on the farm? Well I like to tease chickens about their size(did I mention I like this guy).
4.Now on to the most interesting question, how did you get your name? When I was a little chick,a opossum got two of my toes, but "the boy person" fixed me up,so it does not hurt. I think a chicken is teasing my hens,I will go straiten him out. Bye,get over here you roster.
Well that was Tow-Toes folks. See you later.I think a pile of hay is trying to escape.
